What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

James 2:14-17

As we grow in faith, we are drawn to do good works.

Below are some of the activities and past and future events that support this area of our Vision.

PUMC's Good Works Day

Looking for something fun to do, please join us on

Saturday, March 9, 2013 for another Paoli United Methodist Church's Good Works Day

Salvation Army meal

The first Sunday of each month we prepare and serve a dinner for about 20-25 people at the Salvation Army in West Chester.

The family or families that sign up purchase the food, prepare the meal, take it to the Salvation Army center and serve the meal.

The Center has a small kitchen, but usually we prepare the meal at home and use their kitchen to re-heat it, if needed.

Christmas Time Missions

Our Mission Team works with General Wayne Elementary School to "adopt" famiies in need.  Many families in our community do not have the means to provide a Christmas meal or gifts for their children.  Let's serve the Lord by working together to provide gifts and Food Baskets.

ANGEL TREE:

Take a tag off the Angel Trees in the Church Narthex.  Be an Angel and buy the items listed on the tag.  Return the unwrapped item with tree tag and wrapping supplies to the church office.

For more than 25 years we have been travelling to various areas of the Appalichians of West Virgina to help restore the homes and minister to the people of the region. So far, we've always gone to W. Va. but the location and local Mission that we choose has varied; Psalm 23 Camp, McDowell, Upshur Parish.

We are blessed to be supporting an incredible, spirit-filled young woman who grew up in our church and is now on an 11 month journey through 11 countries sharing the gospel and ministering to those in need.
